Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 June 2022, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy - Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov paid a visit to Kabul.

During the visit, separate negotiations were held with the Deputy Prime Ministers of Afghanistan - Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Abdul Salam Hanafi.

The parties discussed the prospects for further development and strengthening of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, as well as the implementation on the territory of Afghanistan of various infrastructure projects initiated by Uzbekistan in the energy and transport and communication sectors.

The Afghan side expressed gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for providing humanitarian assistance to the country, as well as efforts to restore the national economy.

The members of the Uzbek delegation also held talks with Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan Muttaqi and Acting Afghan Interior Minister Sirojiddin Haqqani.

Issues of cooperation in the political sphere, as well as in the field of security, were discussed.
