A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the WAGE Regional Conference "Agenda for Women’s Entrepreneurship in Central Asia"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 9 to 10 December 2022, the WAGE Regional Conference "Women’s Entrepreneurship Agenda in Central Asia" was held in Almaty.

The conference was sponsored by the Women and Girls Empowered Consortium (WAGE) in partnership with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the US Department of Commerce.

M. Kadirkhanova, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality, took part in the work of the regional conference as part of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event discussed approaches to improve the business environment for women entrepreneurs in the region. The participants of the conference spoke about the developments in the issue of removing barriers to women’s entrepreneurship and the proposed methods to strengthen cooperation between business communities in the region.

In particular, in her speech, M. Kadirkhanova noted that comprehensive support for women and girls is one of the priorities of the state policy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Currently, the fair sex is employed in all spheres of life: economic, social, and public. The state provides women and men with equal rights and opportunities in entrepreneurial activities.

Speakers at the conference noted that this event will have a positive impact on the further unification of the efforts of the countries of Central Asia and the solution of many pressing problems.

As a result of a two-day large-scale event, a Memorandum was signed on the interaction of WAGE Coalitions in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan with women entrepreneurs from Turkmenistan. The implementation of the document will contribute to the cohesion of the members of the Coalitions, setting common goals and integrating the experience gained, the information service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
