Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Gairat Fozilov took part in the High-Level Meeting of the Group of Friends of Neutrality for Peace, Security and Sustainable Development, organized in Ashgabat by the Government of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, Iran, the head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, experts from international and regional organizations.
In his speech, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gairat Fozilov informed the participants of the event about the main priorities of the foreign policy of the country's leadership.
Special attention was paid to the goals and objectives of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022–2026 adopted this year, as well as the important initiatives of the Head of State announced at major international forums and events, including efforts to expand economic cooperation, develop transport and communication interconnectedness of states, adaptation of economies to the growing negative consequences of the global crisis.
Separately, the efforts of Uzbekistan to promote peace in neighboring Afghanistan, the importance of implementing the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to create an international negotiating group under the auspices of the UN to develop an algorithm for fulfilling obligations were highlighted.
In addition, the main essence, goals and significance of the Samarkand initiative of solidarity for the sake of common security and prosperity put forward by the President of Uzbekistan at the SCO summit in September of this year were explained.
