Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Health Abdukhakim Khadjibayev visited one of the leading medical institutions - Bundang Hospital of Seoul National University, where a meeting was held with the chief doctor of the hospital Peck Nam Chjon, Dunyo news agency reported.

Seoul National University Bundang Hospital was established in 2003 as a medical department of the university, and has a reputation as an institution leading the development of medicine in Korea. This hospital is the first medical facility outside the United States to receive 7-step certification and is recognized by the American Medical Information Society for the highest level of informatization. The hospital exports the most advanced intelligent medical information systems to the United States and the Middle East.

During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on establishing cooperation in the field of diagnostics and treatment of cancer, organizing trainings for Uzbek doctors, inviting leading doctors of the Bundang Hospital to Uzbekistan, as well as introducing the best practices of the South Korean side in digitalizing the activities of a medical institution.

The members of the Uzbek delegation thoroughly familiarized themselves with the activities of the Oncological Center of the Bundang Hospital, studied the design concept of this center, and were able to obtain detailed information and technical documentation. An examination of the outpatient department of the Oncological Center, a screening center, a hospital building, a department of diagnostic laboratory medicine, and a veterinary laboratory was organized.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement to conclude a memorandum of cooperation, study the issues of training employees of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Oncology and Radiology of Uzbekistan in the Bundang Hospital. In addition, the parties decided to study the possibilities of organizing a visit of the staff of the South Korean hospital to Uzbekistan to conduct master classes.
