Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation from Uzbekistan is participating in the UN Summit on the Transformation of Education, which is being held in New York from 16 to 19 September.

The summit, convened by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, aims to discuss ways to improve education around the world, as well as overcome the obstacles caused by the pandemic.

The forum is attended by UN member states, UN agencies, international organizations and agencies, scientists and experts in the field, civil societies, various foundations, trade unions, as well as representatives of the private sector. 

On behalf of Uzbekistan, this prestigious event is attended by a delegation led by the Minister of Preschool Education Agrepinna Shin, consisting of a number of responsible specialists, such as the head of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of the Quality of Education Ulugbek Tashkenbaev, First Deputy Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Komiljon Karimov, permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to UNESCO Umid Chodiev and others.

Representatives of Uzbekistan are taking part in a series of sessions of the Summit on Transforming Education, as well as in its final plenary session on the topic of digital transformation of education.

In particular, in the session held on 17 September on the topic “Transforming education through universal communication”: schools as hubs for expanding communication in hard-to-reach areas”, Ulugbek Tashenbaev, head of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of the Quality of Education, participated as a lecturer or spoke about the main areas of work to improve education in hard-to-reach areas.
