Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodik Safoev met with the Minister of State Legislation of the Republic of Korea Lee Wan-kyu.

The Ministry of State Legislation of South Korea was established in 1948 and is the body responsible for overseeing and coordinating state legislation.

During the dialogue, issues of expanding and developing the activities of the legislative bodies of the two countries were discussed. Information was also provided on the essence and significance of the constitutional reforms being implemented today in our country.

Lee Wan-kyu positively assessed this reform process and in this regard stressed the importance of consistent work carried out in a short time to improve the national electoral legislation and practice of the country, bringing it into line with generally recognized international standards, in particular, with the adoption of the Electoral Code.

At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the issue of expanding cooperation between the Ministry of State Legislation of the Republic of Korea, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and the Institute for Legislation and Parliamentary Studies under the Oliy Majlis.
