A delegation of Uzbekistan held a meeting at the Japan Institute of International Relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Furkat Sidikov today, 7 July, met with Director-General of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) Tomoko Ichikawa. 

The purpose of the visit to Japan of a delegation consisting of representatives of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Justice, the Center for Sustainable Development, the National Center for Human Rights, the Yuksalish National Movement, is to inform representatives of official structures and think tanks about the essence and significance of the constitutional reform in Uzbekistan, its role in further deepening democratic reforms.

At the meeting, representatives of Japan were informed in detail about the large-scale changes being carried out in Uzbekistan, as well as constitutional reforms. In particular, they were acquainted with the essence and significance of constitutional reforms.

The Japanese side, in turn, highly appreciating the ongoing reforms and large-scale changes in Uzbekistan, in particular, efforts to ensure human rights and gender equality, stressed the great interest in this process, Dunyo news agency reported.

At the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on regional and international cooperation, including the development of relations between the think tanks of Uzbekistan and JIIA.
