Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs Sodikjon Tashbaev and Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Mufti Nuriddin Kholiknazarov flew to Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation plans to discuss with the authorities of Saudi Arabia issues related to the organization of the 2022 Hajj season.
It should be noted that for the past two years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Muslims around the world have not been able to perform the Hajj.
Since January of this year, the pilgrimage of citizens of Uzbekistan to Umrah has been resumed. At the moment, about 35 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan have made the Umrah pilgrimage.
