Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The delegation of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, which is in Ashgabat these days, headed by Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tazila Narbayeva, met with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov. 

During the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of Uzbek-Turkmen relations, which in recent years have been filled with new practical content. 

The importance of ensuring the regular work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation was emphasized. 

The parties agreed on the need to intensify the inter-parliamentary dialogue in order to promote the development of ties between the regions of the two countries, as well as the expansion of industrial cooperation between manufacturers of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. 

Issues of strengthening cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were also discussed, including the continuation of the practice of holding joint events demanded by the population of the two countries in this direction.
