A delegation of the Ministry of Energy paid a working visit to Bangladesh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan paid a working visit to Bangladesh to discuss the possibility of developing mutually beneficial relations in the oil and gas sector.

The first meeting took place at the National Oil and Gas Company of the Republic of Bangladesh PetroBangla. During the talks, PetroBangla Chairman Nazmul Ahsan expressed interest in new technologies and well drilling experience, in particular, those used in difficult geological conditions with a high content of hydrogen sulfide in the Uzbek M-25 field. During the meeting, plans for further cooperation in the field of drilling were discussed.

Further, in Dhaka, the delegation held talks with the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Bangladesh, Nazrul Hamid, and experts in the field. The Uzbek delegation also included members of the management of large companies in the oil and gas industry and the construction sector ERIELL Group and Enter Engineering.

Over the past 10 years, ERIELL Group has been providing oil and gas services at a number of fields in the Republic of Bangladesh.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation at the intergovernmental level in the development of the oil and gas sector of the Republic of Bangladesh, including the development of new oil and gas fields.

In this regard, during a meeting in Dhaka, Minister of Energy Nazrul Hamid highly appreciated the work of the company in drilling and testing 17 exploratory wells, which gave mostly positive results with indications of an industrial inflow of natural gas of 600-700 thousand cubic meters per day.

It was noted that the specialists of Uzbekistan have extensive experience in the petrochemical and hydrocarbon sectors. In this regard, the partnership with the Bangladesh Oil Company for exploration and production is promising.

Cooperation between the two countries also has great potential in the construction of gas pipelines and in the renewable energy sector.

Taking into account the existing positive experience of joint work, the possibilities of drilling deep exploratory wells up to 5500-6000 meters deep at various fields were discussed, which had not previously been performed due to the lack of the necessary drilling rigs and blowout control equipment.

Minister of Energy Nasrul Hamid highly appreciated cooperation in the energy sector and noted that Bangladesh can use the experience of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the hydrocarbon sector, including in advanced training of Bangladeshi engineers. He also accepted an invitation to visit the country in order to work out in detail the plans for further cooperation.
