A Dedicated Metro Line Planned to Connect Tashkent with New Airport
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A separate metro line is planned to link the new Tashkent International Airport with the city, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced during the “Menimcha” program on the “Uzbekistan 24” channel.
According to the president, the new line will connect the capital with New Tashkent, with travel time from the city to the terminal not exceeding 25 minutes. The total length of the route will be approximately 24 kilometers.
The construction of the airport, along with the expansion of the airline fleet from 105 to 180 aircraft, is expected to generate about $770 million annually for the national economy.
To enhance passenger convenience, shuttle services will be organized, and the airport complex will be integrated with the future metro line.
