Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 June 2021, at about 07:45 pm, the internal affairs bodies receives a message from the visitors to the Tukhtaboy mosque located in Almazar district of Tashkent city that citizen Arifkhodjaev Fozilkhuja, born in 1980, committed scandal, which violated public order and the peace of the citizens.

On this fact, the Department of Internal Affairs of the Almazar District Department of Internal Affairs conducted an inspection, the collected materials were transferred to the criminal court of the Almazar District. The court found F. Arifkhodjaev guilty of committing offenses under Article 183 (“Petty hooliganism”) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and sentenced him to 15 days of administrative arrest.

During the check, law enforcement officers received information that F. Arifkhodjaev keeps materials of dubious religious nature in his mobile phone, which he showed to other people. When examining the contents stored in the memory of F. Arifkhodjaev’s phone, materials of a religious nature were found. To assess the nature of the content of these materials, the telephone was seized in accordance with the procedural order, a religious expert examination of materials of religious content was appointed.

According to the experts of the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, some publications in the profile of the user "Fozilkhuja Arifkhodjaev" of the social network Facebook were recognized as propagandizing the ideas of religious fundamentalism. According to current legislation, the import, preparation and distribution of such materials is prohibited.

In this connection, the Investigation Department of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Tashkent opened a criminal case against F. Arifkhodjaev under Article 244, note. 1 point "d" of part 3 ("Production, storage, distribution or demonstration of materials containing a threat to public safety and public order") of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. An investigation is underway.
