A criminal case has been initiated into the murder of a Bukhara deer

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Information and video materials on the fact of the killing of a Bukhara deer, which is listed in the Red Book, in the Zarafshan National Natural Park of the Samarkand region, were disseminated on social networks.

According to the information, citizen D.D. applied to the prosecutor’s office of Jambay district, who said that on 8 February 2021, while walking in the Zarafshan National Natural Park, he saw the head of the park and the inspectors of the 1st section shot a deer. Then on 9 February, going to the scene of the murder, citizen D.D. filmed the abandoned deer skin, deer head and traces of blood. After the shooting, he took the material evidence home and, having contacted law enforcement agencies, asked to take legal action against the perpetrators.

According to the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Samarkand region, on this fact, an investigative check was carried out and a car belonging to the head of the Zarafshan National Natural Park was examined.

As a result of the investigation, the damage to the animal world was determined in the amount of 36 million 750 thousand soums. In fact, the prosecutor’s office of Jambay district opened a criminal case under clause "g" of part 3 of article 202 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of the procedure for the use of animal or flora, associated with the destruction of species of animal or flora listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan), an investigation is under way

Bukhara deer is one of the rarest subspecies of red deer that lives in Central Asia in tugai forests and in tall grass along the banks of water bodies. The animal is listed in the International Red Book and Red Book of Uzbekistan.
