Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A 29‑year‑old Uzbek national who was wanted under an international arrest warrant has been detained in Istanbul, Türkiye, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

According to the Ministry, the individual, identified by the initials D.E., was placed on the wanted list by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent on suspicion of committing large‑scale fraud under Part 3 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Following his apprehension in Türkiye, he was deported to Uzbekistan and handed over to domestic law enforcement authorities for further investigative proceedings.

The Ministry urges anyone who may have suffered harm from the suspect’s alleged criminal activity to contact the internal affairs agencies to file reports and provide testimony.
