A book dedicated to the unique Uzbek collection from the Malaysian Al-Bukhari Foundation will be presented in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the 6th Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, a book-album dedicated to the unique Uzbek collection of the Al-Bukhari Foundation, stored in the Museum of Islamic Art in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will be presented.

These are medieval Bukhara and Samarkand manuscripts, gold jewelry of Bukhara, famous abr fabrics and clothing samples of the population of the Uzbek khanates, as well as ceramics of Samarkand (Afrasiab), created during the period of the Muslim Renaissance (IX-XII centuries) and the Bukhara Khanate (XVIII century) .

The album will present the brightest part of this collection - Korans and manuscripts created in the cities of Uzbekistan, ceramics, weapons, jewelry and jewelry, numismatics. The rarest artifact presented in the album is a Sogdian silk robe dating back to the 7th-8th centuries.

The album will also feature one of the oldest manuscripts of the early 12th-13th centuries. "Ad-Zahira Al-Khorezmshahiya" or "Treasures of the Shah of Khorezm" by Al-Jurdjani. The manuscript was created in Khiva, the capital of the Khorezmshahs, and is dedicated to the history of this dynasty.

The collection of artifacts from Uzbekistan is presented to the general public in one edition for the first time.

The Malaysian Museum of Islamic Art is one of the largest museums in Kuala Lumpur. Established in 1998, it is housed in a purpose-built four-story Islamic architecture building in the city center near the National Mosque.

The creation of the book became possible with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia.
