Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On Friday evening, 93 citizens of Uzbekistan were brought from Syria to Tashkent as part of the humanitarian operation "Mehr-5" ("Kindness-5").
In particular, 24 women and 69 children arrived in Tashkent from the Al-Hol refugee camp in Syria. Women and children were held in the camp for over three years. The husbands of these women were killed in the fighting in Syria.
Upon arrival in Uzbekistan, they will be provided with medical, psychological, material and moral assistance. They will also receive assistance in restoring documents.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of the United States and other partner countries.
The Government of Uzbekistan carried out four humanitarian actions "Mehr-1", "Mehr-2", "Mehr-3" and "Mehr-4". As part of these actions, 438 women and children were returned to Uzbekistan from the conflict zone in the Middle East.
