Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, about 300 fellow citizens are waiting for return to their homeland in India, Dunyo reports.
Employees of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi around the clock in contact with compatriots by phone and instant messengers. With strict observance of sanitary standards, citizens are admitted to address emerging issues. In particular, in April-May, a transfer of food and basic necessities was organized to more than 150 fellow citizens located in the cities of Delhi, Gurugram and Noida.
In total, during the pandemic, charter flights of Uzbekistan Airways JSC (on 21 March and on 10 May) returned 527 people to Uzbekistan.
As of 28 May, 158,333 cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in India, the number of new infections was 2,437, including 64,729 recovered, and 4,365 deaths.
