4,359 Uzbek citizens evacuated from Ukraine

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6-7 March 2022, 674 citizens of Uzbekistan, including 109 women, 57 children and 12 babies, were returned from Ukraine through the airport in Katowice (Poland). This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Yusup Kabuljanov.

According to him, in the period from 28 February to 7 March, 19 flights took place and 4,359 compatriots were taken out of the combat zone. Another flight is scheduled for 7 March.

He noted that there are more than 350 fellow citizens on the territory of Poland, of which 80 people placed in the accumulation zone of the state border of Poland, about 270 people – at the Katowice airport.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine is in constant contact with compatriots. Diplomats are in various regions of Ukraine, including in the combat zone, and are working to evacuate our citizens, he concluded.
