Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A government resolution “On organizational measures to ensure the effectiveness of institutions for the enforcement of sentences related to deprivation of liberty” was adopted.
The resolution approved the Regulation on the institutions for the execution of sentences related to deprivation of liberty.
According to the Regulation, penitentiary institutions include:
colony for the execution of sentences, including on medical rights;
educational colonies;
prisons;
specialized hospitals for convicts.
The allocation of land for the construction of administrative, domestic, utility buildings and structures at a distance of 50 meters from institutions for the execution of sentences related to deprivation of liberty, leasing them, as well as the construction of buildings and structures more than 6 meters in height, is not allowed.
Also, the resolution approved the program for the phased construction and reconstruction of residential premises of the colonies for the execution of sentences with their transfer to premises such as kubrick in 2020-2024.
According to this program, in the indicated years, a total of 60 residential premises will be reconstructed in 14 penal colonies by replacing them with cubicle-type premises. 3 new buildings will be built.
In addition, the Program was approved for equipping institutions for the execution of sentences related to imprisonment with video surveillance devices and personal video cameras (body cameras), as well as the introduction of electronic bracelets in the practice of the Probation Service in 2020.
According to this program, 18 penal colonies will be equipped with 1,833 video surveillance devices and 36 sets of personal video cameras (body cameras).
Also, this year 3 thousand electronic bracelets will be introduced into the practice of the Probation Service.
The Ministry of the Interior is the customer of the construction and reconstruction of facilities, as well as the purchase of modern technical security equipment and video surveillance equipment.
