30 Farmers from Samarkand Region Undergo Training in China as Part of Regional Agro Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The second agricultural training course of 2025 for farmers from Central Asian countries has commenced at Weinan Vocational and Technical College in Shaanxi Province, China. Among the participants are 30 farmers from Kattakurgan district of Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The educational program is part of the agreements reached during the “China – Central Asia” Summit held in Xi’an in May 2023. The initiative is aimed at fostering agricultural cooperation and enhancing the professional qualifications of farmers in the region.

The participants expressed their gratitude to the host country for the opportunity to study modern agricultural technologies and voiced strong interest in expanding collaboration with Chinese partners in the farming sector.

Weinan Vocational and Technical College, which is organizing the course, has maintained stable relations with the Kattakurgan district since 2003. In June of this year, these ties were elevated to a new level when the two parties officially established a sister-region partnership.

Since December 2023, more than 150 farmers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan have completed training programs at the college.

The curriculum combines theoretical lectures with hands-on learning in areas such as advanced crop cultivation, irrigation systems, agro-processing, and sustainable farming practices.
