29 Companies Designated as Dominant Market Players in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Committee for the Development of Competition has officially recognized 29 business entities with exclusive rights as dominant players in Uzbekistan’s goods and financial markets.
According to the Law “On Competition,” the possession of exclusive rights to produce, sell, or procure specific goods automatically qualifies a company or a group of companies as dominant within the corresponding market segment.
The list includes 4 private companies, 15 state-owned enterprises, and 10 government institutions. Collectively, these entities hold 40 different types of exclusive rights.
Among the entities identified as holding dominant positions are: CRPT Turon, Smart Marketplace, To‘palang HPD Holding, the insurance company Uzagrosugurta, the Tourist Services Center, the publishing house Sharq, the state unitary enterprise Soliq-Servis, and several other organizations.
The Committee’s decision aims to enhance market transparency and ensure compliance with antimonopoly regulations by entities granted exclusive powers.
