16-Year-Old Teen Sparks Chase and Accident in Tashkent After Taking Father’s Car Without Permission

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On the night of 1 March, a minor driver in the capital ignored traffic police orders to stop, caused a road accident, and attempted to flee the scene. It was later revealed that the teenager had taken the car from his father without permission, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Public Safety Department reported.

The incident occurred on Bunyodkor Avenue in the Chilanzar district. Traffic police spotted a Lacetti vehicle without license plates traveling at high speed. The driver failed to comply with the stop order and accelerated, attempting to evade authorities along the ring road (MKAD) and Dombrabad Street, endangering other road users.

During the chase, the teen collided with another car and tried to flee the scene. He was eventually apprehended on Bogishamol Street in the Yunusabad district. Three individuals were in the car, two of whom were also minors.

The case materials have been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for further investigation.
