14 Uzbek Citizens Return Home from Sweden
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A charter flight carrying 14 Uzbek citizens, previously held in temporary detention centers in Sweden for violating migration laws, landed at Tashkent International Airport. Their return was made possible through close coordination between the competent authorities of both countries.
Uzbekistan continues to actively cooperate with international partners to protect the legal rights of its citizens abroad and facilitate their return in accordance with established procedures.
Upon arrival in Tashkent, some of the returnees shared their experiences.
“We traveled to Europe seeking employment and intended to complete the necessary paperwork for legal work. However, for various reasons, we were unable to do so. In recent years, European legislation has become stricter, controls have intensified, and measures against irregular migrants have become significantly harsher. We were detained during a routine check and placed in temporary holding centers. Each of us feels joy at returning home, close to our families and loved ones,” the citizens said.
Authorities emphasized the importance of complying with the migration laws of the host country, as well as entry and residency regulations, for all citizens planning to travel abroad. Observing these rules helps prevent legal issues and ensures safe and lawful stays overseas.
