Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Another batch of 117 Volkswagen Caddy cars was delivered to the ambulance service in the regions. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

Prior to this, there were 220 such vehicles in the depot of the Republican Ambulance Center.

At the first stage, at the expense of the Fund for the Development of Emergency Medical Care, 230 units of Ford category B resuscitation vehicles for Tashkent and Samarkand were transferred. By the beginning of 2022, 541 vehicles were operating in the ambulance service.

According to the Ministry of Health, at the second stage, it is planned to purchase 1,000 class A ambulances. Credit funds were attracted for the purchase of cars under the Asian Development Bank project.

The agency notes that about 337 Volkswagen Caddy cars have been delivered to the regions of Uzbekistan. Cars are distributed based on the population of the regions.

Director of the Republican Ambulance Center Abduvoit Gafurov said that it is planned to purchase another 640 cars of such brands as Hyundai, Ford, Volkswagen, Iveco.
