Uzbekistan plans to export construction materials worth US$1.1 billion in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-February 2024, products worth 3.4 trillion soums were produced in the field of construction materials, which is 8.2 percent more than the same period of last year.
During this period, 2.1 million tons of cement, 3.8 million square meters of building glass, 8.2 million square meters of plasterboard, 4.1 million square meters of ceramic tiles and 452 thousand rolls of paper were produced.
In the first quarter of 2024, exports worth US$152.9 million were carried out. In particular, the volume of exports of PVC profiles and pipes amounted to US$17.5 million, aluminum profiles - US$8.2 million, ceramic tiles and products - US$12.2 million, dry construction and cement binder mixtures - US$9.6 million, as well as wallpaper - US$16.3 million.
Uzbekistan exported construction materials to Azerbaijan, Turkey, Canada, Romania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
According to forecasts, in 2024, enterprises in Uzbekistan will produce construction materials worth 37.9 trillion soums (an increase of 11%).
This year, 540 projects will be implemented with a total cost of US$2.2 billion.
Construction materials worth US$1.1 billion are expected to be exported in 2024.
Also, as part of the localization program, products worth 2 trillion soums will be produced in 2024.
