Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An agreement was signed in Tashkent on the use of the capacities of the state data processing center of the Electronic Government system for the operation of Big Data projects and digital advertising of the new division of the VEON Group. The new direction of cooperation will allow to effectively develop the areas of the VEON AdTech digital division in compliance with high data security standards. The data center will speed up cloud solutions and make them more accessible to the digital operator and its customers.

The localization of Data Processing Centers in the countries of Central Asia makes it possible to develop IT technologies in the macroregion, while simultaneously providing the intensively growing segment of data processing for business and the security of information about consumers with the necessary capacities to operate.

— The implementation of cloud solutions for the local market and the export of IT products from Uzbekistan to the Central Asian macro-region and beyond is becoming the most important condition for continuing the transformation of the Republic into an IT hub, the director of State Institution "Electronic Government Project Management Center" Aziz Mukhitdinov said. – And we are glad that VEON AdTech became one of the first representatives of international business who got the opportunity to use the resources of our modern Data Center of the Electronic Government system, which appeared in Uzbekistan thanks to the state strategy for the development of the digital industry,

The national data center is designed for unlimited operation without planned downtime and is certified according to global standards by Uptime Institute Tier III. A data storage system with a total capacity of 20 PB (more than 20 million gigabytes) is installed in a special building, an autonomous power supply, cooling and fire safety system is provided. Thanks to the use of the data center’s own capacities, businesses that operate in Uzbekistan can not depend on foreign cloud services and launch new products and client services.

“Today, at VEON AdTech, we are already using several dozen high-performance state data center servers for our digital products. It is very important for us to store and process local data in Uzbekistan to ensure data protection and diversification of VEON AdTech platforms,” says George Held, CEO of VEON AdTech, commenting on the new collaboration.

VEON pays great attention to the formation of internal secure authentication and verification systems for the companies that are part of the group, the total number of service consumers of which exceeds 200 million unique customers. In Uzbekistan, not only the digital operator Beeline Uzbekistan is developing, but also the new division VEON AdTech, which provides unique technological solutions for digital marketing, fintech and customer service. Therefore, cyber security and user data security are becoming one of the key tasks in the rapidly developing IT market in Central Asia.
