Special Representative of Uzbek President meets with Russian Ambassador

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 November, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador of Russia Vladimir Tyurdenev.

The parties discussed the efforts of Uzbekistan and Russia to resolve the Afghan crisis, the current situation in Afghanistan, the course and prospects of peaceful inter-Afghan negotiations in Doha, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The sides also paid special attention to the implementation of the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on creating a permanent committee on Afghanistan at the UN, which became another important step in promoting peace in Afghanistan.
