CIS observers’ mission starts work in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Long-term observers of the Mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) arrived in Uzbekistan.

The CIS mission will observe preparation and holding of presidential elections in Uzbekistan on invitation of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan.

On 18 November, CEC of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the CIS observers’ mission led by head of department of the CIS Executive Committee Evgeniy Sloboda.

Chairperson of the CEC Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov provided information on presidential election campaign in Uzbekistan and agitation campaign, conducted by the candidates.

The CIS mission said it will launch headquarters in Tashkent to observe presidential elections in Uzbekistan. The headquarters will analyze election process, legislation, monitor mass media, etc.
