Rio-2016: Hasanboy Dusmatov ensures he gets Olympic medal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Boxer Hasanboy Dusmatov from Uzbekistan progressed to the semifinals of the boxing tournament of Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in the weight category up to 49 kg.

Hasanboy Dusmatov defeated Birzhan Zhakypov from Kazakhstan with the score 3-0 in the quarterfinals to progress to last four.

Advancing to semifinals, Hasanboy Dusmatov ensured that he wins at least bronze medal of Olympic Games. In the semifinals, Dusmatov will fight against Nico Hernandez of the USA.

Earlier, boxer Rustam Tulyaganov progressed to the semifinals of the boxing tournament of Olympic Games in the weight category of up to 91 kg.

Currently, Uzbekistan won two Olympic Games medals. Judokas Diyorbek Urozboev (60 kg) and Rishod Sobirov (66 kg) became bronze medal winners of Rio Olympic Games.
