Uzbek envoy hands over credential to Kazakh President

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan Ikrom Nazarov handed over credentials to the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, the press service of Akorda said.
Uzbek leader congratulated envoy with appointment and expressed hope that responsible and honourable mission of Ambassador in Kazakhstan will contribute to development of cooperation between two states.
Nazarbaev underlined that Kazakhstan linked with goodwill relations and firm traditions of friendship and mutual respect with Uzbekistan.
Kazakh President noted that Kazakhstan considers Uzbekistan as a strategic partner in the Central Asian region.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev said that the 15th joint inter-governmental commission on bilateral cooperation was held last week. He expressed his assurance that realization of reached agreement will lift Uzbek-Kazakh relations to new level.
“We have all opportunities of efficient cooperation in all directions of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. According to agreements, reached during last visit of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to our country, I am planning to visit Tashkent in June and participate in upcoming session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization,” President of Kazakhstan said.
Nazarov, in his turn, said that his work will be directed to further expanding bilateral cooperation on mutual beneficial terms.
Uzbek envoy said that Kazakhstan is one of the trade partners of Uzbekistan. In 2015, the volume of bilateral trade turnover made up over US$3 billion. He said there are great opportunities in this direction.
