Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- One of the key priorities of UzLiDeP program is to support the development of entrepreneurship and farmers. Therefore, the party holds a number of projects and competitions aimed at strengthening young people’s interest in the agricultural sector, providing them support and involvement in agriculture and business development of its abilities and initiatives. In particular, party projects such as “Future Farmers”, “To business with diploma”, “Young Farmer”.
Samarkand regional Council of UzLiDeP organized a practical seminar on the theme «The place and role of experts in further deepening the reforms and structural change in agriculture» to discuss the development of agriculture at the Samarkand Agricultural Institute.
- Current youth is very single-minded to new ideas, - said the rector of Samarkand Agricultural Institute, member of the regional council of people’s deputies T. Ostanakulov.- We hold meetings where experts help young people start their own business.
Scientific research plays an important role in the development of agriculture. Introduction of innovative technologies in the industry helps to ensure a rich crop, the effective use of land resources, ensure the needs of fruits and vegetables. In recent years, students of the institute conducted research in the field of agronomy, veterinary medicine, animal husbandry and other areas of agriculture.
- As a result of my research, I have created varieties of wheat “Jasmine”, “Farboma” and “Amir”, with high yield and quality of corn resistant to the disease, “yellow rust”, - says the student of agronomy, winner state scholarships named after Beruni F. Toshkentboeva. - Currently, “Jasmine” grown in Samarkand and Navoi regions and it yields 70-80 quintals per hectare.
It was noted that as a result of the reforms carried out in 2015, about 95 000 jobs, including 80 000 in rural areas were created. In addition, more than 11 million new farmers were organized.
Commercial banks allocated 34.6 billion soums of soft loans to youth for opening their business. This year commercial banks are planning to allocate 45 billion soums of soft loans.
The participants noted that the high efficiency of the work of farmers contributes to the growth of income of rural residents, ensuring the country’s demand for quality food products.
