Uzbek, Latvian Foreign Ministries hold political consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Latvia held the thirteenth round of political consultations on 22 February 2016.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the consultations took place in Riga. The delegation of Latvia was led by Deputy State Secretary and Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Eduards Stiprais.
Durin the meeting, the sides considered current state and perspectives of bilateral relations in politics, trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, analyzed legal base of cooperation, as well as exchanged opinion on international and regional problems.
It is underlined that mutual beneficial Uzbek-Latvian relations are based on created firm legal base and are developing dynamically.
The sides consider each other as long-term and reliable partners and relations are based on openness and mutual respect of mutual interest and cover such directions as of political dialogue, inter-parliamentary and inter-departmental contacts, mutual beneficial trade-economic and transport-communication spheres.
At the meeting, the sides considered proposals on schedule of upcoming contacts at various levels in 2016.
The Uzbek delegation also held meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Andreju Pildegoviču in Riga.
