Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over the past years, Uzbekistan takes consistent measures to improve crop yields and increase the share of environmentally friendly, high quality, export-oriented agricultural production. This approach is very important for UzLiDeP, because this process is based on the creation of favorable conditions for entrepreneurs and farmers to accelerate the development of processing industries in rural areas, create new jobs and urban and rural development.
UzLiDeP attaches exceptional importance to gradual increase in depth of processing of local raw materials of mineral and plant origin, which is rich in our land, as well as expanding volume and range of products with high added value. In particular, as a result of the optimization of cultivated areas and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies to 2020 year need practical assistance of UzLiDeP, its electorate to increase production volume by 30% vegetables, fruits and grapes - by 21.5 %
Given this critical importance attached to increase in productivity of agricultural crops puts in the forefront further industrialization of agriculture and processing of this raw material base, establishment of appropriate infrastructure to ensure preservation of quality of harvest. Thanks to the selfless work of all rural workers in 2015 built and refurbished 230 enterprises in industrial processing of agricultural products, commissioned 114 new cold stores with a capacity 77,800 tons. Thus, the total capacity of storage of fruits and vegetables increased to 832 thousand tons. This helps to ensure the population on a regular basis in agricultural products, increasing their exports and maintain price stability.
Above mentioned and other issues were discussed at the “round table” on the theme “Actual problems for deep processing of fruit and vegetable production using modern technologies to produce export-oriented products and its implementation” organized by Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP in collaboration with the Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan on February 18.
During the event, participants discussed in detail the issues in the field of quality and safety of food, reform and development of the agricultural sector, attracting investments, including foreign ones, for the introduction of modern agricultural technologies in agriculture, production and export of agricultural products.
In this regard, UzLiDeP considers that the need to support farmers in expanding cooperation with the industrial sector to increase in production and export share of advanced processing products. Along with this, we need to develop a legal framework, improvement of enforcement and implementation of positive experiences of foreign countries in this field.
