Uzbek children head to Germany to undergo treatment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Eleven children from Uzbekistan flew to Germany to receive free medical treatment on 17 February, the press service of International Charity Foundation Soglov Avlod Uchun (For Healthy Generation) said.
They headed to clinics in Germany within the programme of International humanitarian organization Friedensdorf International.
Children from Jizzakh, Namangan, Samarkand Surkandarya, Kashkadarya, Ferghana regions and also from Tashkent city will receive medical assistance in Germany.
On 21 February, 13 children, who received medical help in Germany, will return to Uzbekistan, the Fund said. Soglov Avlod Uchun, Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and Friedensdorf International signed an agreement on cooperation in 2002.
Friedensdorf International has been founded in 1967 and operates in over 40 countries of the world. The fund cooperates with many European clinics to help children. In 2009-2014, some 249 children were sent to Germany to undergo medical treatment.
Friedensdorf International allocated grants to surgery of children with congenital maxillofacial defects (harelip, palate) and some 166 children were operated in 2015.
Within the project “Slim legs”, about 226 children at the age of up to 15 were operated to treat congenital orthopedic diseases of the lower limb (clubfoot) and a diagnosis of “wryneck” in 2015.
