Uzbekistan creates about 1m jobs in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan created about 1 million jobs in 2014, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov stated at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan on 16 January 2015.
Uzbek leader said that implementation of programmes of modernization and update of production capacities, development of transport and engineering-communication infrastructure, stimulating development of small and private businesses helped to create about 1 million jobs in 2014, of which 60% fell to share of rural areas.
He said that over 600,000 graduates of educational establishments were employed in 2014. Major part of them opened their businesses due to soft loans.
Islam Karimov said that about 200 billion soums of soft microloans were issued to graduates of colleges, who launched their own business in 2014, which rose by 1.4 times compared to 2013.
