Consumers mostly complained for communal services in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Committee of Uzbekistan on privatization, demonopolization and development of competition and its territorial bodies received 4,725 complaints and appeals from consumers in 2014, which rose by 7.5% compared to 2013 (4,398).
The press service of the committee said that in the result of consideration of complaints and appeals, consumers received compensations for 1.215 billion soums.
The committee underlined that it received 2,010 appeals (2,135) in written forms and 2,649 (88%) were solved in favour of consumers and they received compensations for 1.113 billion soums (807.1 million soums).
Over 1,715 complaints (2,263) were received via phone and 984 were solved in favour of consumers, who received compensations for 101.3 million (151.3 million). On about 736 appeal, the consumers received explanations.
About 63.4% of appeals were related to communal services in 2014. Number of appeals on trade and catering fell by 3 points to 16.4%. Number of appeals on transport and communication made up 9.7% of total complaints.
