CEC creates 14 electoral districts for presidential elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan (CEC) with its resolution from 7 January 2014 created 14 electoral districts for elections of the President of Uzbekistan with the borders of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city.
According to data of the CEC, over 20.798 million people can cast their votes at the presidential elections, which will be held on 29 March.
In line with the legislation, the nomination of the candidates will start 65 days before elections and end 45 days before the voting day.
The political parties, registered by the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan, can nominated candidates to the President of Uzbekistan.
