Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and China signed a programme of cooperation between Prosecutor-General’s Office of Uzbekistan and Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China for 2015-2016, the press service of the Prosecutor-General’s Office of Uzbekistan said.
The document was signed after talks between Prosecutor-General of Uzbekistan Rashitjon Kadirov and Procurator-General of China Cao Jianming on 7 October 2014.
The meeting was held within the visit of the Procurator-General of China Cao Jianming to Uzbekistan to participate in the summit of the SCO Prosecutor-Generals in Tashkent.
It was noted that Uzbekistan and China are linked with friendly relations and mutual beneficial cooperation in legal sphere. It was said that regular meetings of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and China help to develop the ties between two nations.
It was said that Uzbekistan and China signed an agreement on legal aid to civil and criminal affairs in 1997 and on extradition in 1999, as well as inter-departmental agreement in 2000.
The sides underlined that Uzbekistan and China should sign an agreement on transfer of persons, who were sentenced for jail terms. It was said that the officials are working on draft of the agreement.
After the talks, Uzbekistan and China signed a programme of cooperation between Prosecutor-General’s Office of Uzbekistan and Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China for 2015-2016, which envisages strengthening of interaction within the agreement on cooperation between prosecutor bodies of two nations from 11 October2000.
The Chinese delegation also held negotiations at the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan and Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.
