Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock company Uzkimyosanoat is planning to construct a new plant on construct of complex fertilizers in Navoi region, according to materials of Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan.
According to the ministry, the plant will produce 145,000 phosphorus and 150,000 tonnes of NPK fertilizers a year, as well as 650,000 tonnes of sulphuric acid. The plant will be based on phosphorus fields in Central Kyzylkums.
The Government entrusted Uzkimyosanoat and Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine to prepare draft feasibility study of project by October 2014 and submit it to approval to the Government.
The project with estimated cost of US$380 million will be financed due to foreign loans and internal resources, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan is planning to direct US$100 million to expansion of production of raw phosphorus at Cental Kyzylkums with attraction of foreign companies in 2014-2018. The progamme envisages increasing of mining at Jeroy field by 2.4 times to 3.6 million tonnes of ore a year. The programme will be financed due to internal resources.
