UzLiDeP works to protect interests of small businesses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Recently adopted law on introduction of changes and amendments to separate articles of the Constitution of Uzbekistan serves as stimulus for further developing representative democracy, form single system of parliamentary and public control over activities of the executive branch of power. One of important conditions for MPs control is holding hearings on activities of the state bodies in places at the sessions of the Councils of People’s Deputies.
MPs from UzLiDeP adopt systematic measures on efficient use of control authorities of deputies in places to implement goals of the party, protection of rights and interests of the voters.
MPs from UzLiDeP in Syrdarya regional Council of People’s Deputies held a session to hear the report of the first deputy head of Syrdarya regional department of economy Abduhalil Islamov on implementation of investment programme for 2014 on development of small and private businesses and introduction of new technologies in Syrdarya region.
Abduhalil Islamov said that the region pays great attention to creation favourable investment climate. Share of small businesses in gross regional product rose from 55.8% in 2003 to 70% now, while number of employed in the sector grew from 61.3% to 78%.
He said that the region and neighboring territories have high demand for industrial products and number of businesses, engaged in production of consumer goods, is increasing each year.
Abduhalil Islamov said that it is planned to implement 17 investment projects for US$28.8 million within the territorial investment programme of Syrdarya region. In the result, it is planned to produce goods for 69.5 billionsoums and export products for US$7.9 million, as well as create new 790 jobs.
Within the programme of social-economic development of Syrdarya region for 2013-2015, it is planned to implement 627 projects worth 224.7 billion soums and US$1.8 million, as well as create 3,941 jobs in 2014. Currently, 281 projects for 174.6 billion soums and US$1.8 million were implemented and 1,676 new jobs were created.
During hearing, MPs drew attention to solving some problematic issues. They pointed out that there were problems with import of production technologies in some districts. There were also problems with allocation of lands for implementation of the projects on construction of service points for 1.5 billion soums.
At the hearing, the sides considered practical proposals and recommendations on solving existing problems.
