Uzbekneftegaz: There is no disruption with gas supplies to regions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekneftegaz national holding denied information on disruptions of gas supplies to regions of Uzbekistan, which was reported by foreign internet editions.
The company said in a statement said that foreign internet editions have been making unfounded reports that some of the regions of Uzbekistan are facing disruptions in gas supply. It added that the reports claim that in future Uzbek citizens will use coal and wood only.
The company said that the reports on gas supply disruptions are not true. Uzbekistan creates additional infrastructure, similar to those in developed states, which will allow to effectively use natural and liquefied gas. This will allow to ensure undisrupted and stable supply of gas to all consumers.
Uzbekneftegaz said that Uzbekistan is increasing the volume of gas, supplied to the population of the country.
According to Uztransgaz, currently works on ensuring undistributed supply of gas to population of the regions in autumn-winter period.
Over 200 km of gas distribution network was repaired and reconstructed. Over 95,000 gas distribution were technically revises. Works on preparation of service centers on storage and realization of domestic gas cylinders are almost completed. Uzbekistan created reserves of necessary materials such as pipelines, gas cylinders, and others.
For examples, over 23 km of gas distribution network were repaired and reconstructed and 1,750 km of networks were tested in Samarkand region. Over 83,000 domestic gas cylinders and 37 vehicles to transport cylinders were purchased.
Uzbekneftegaz said that 8,3km of gas pipelines were constructed in Kokand, 10 km in Andijan, 11 km in Urgench. Uzbekistan constructed 360 km of gas pipelines to supply gas to modern rural houses, constructed on standard projects. The adopted measures will help improve gas supply of 163,000 houses. Uzbekneftegaz said that it is planned to increase liquefied gas supply to consumers by 3.6-4.5 times and natural gas – 3-7% more compared to 2012.
Uzbekistan actively works on developing new hydrocarbon fields. Uzbekneftegaz said that exploration works and development of fields allow to say that potential of oil and gas sector have necessary volume of hydrocarbons to supply them both to internal and external markets.
