The Government of Uzbekistan is investing approximately $30.075 billion into industrial development. This was provided for in a decree from the President of Uzbekistan, on the basis of which the programme of priorities for the development of industry in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2011-2015 was approved. The document includes 158 investment projects, with a total preliminary cost of $10.98 billion, in various industrial sectors.
The accelerated replacement of obsolete industrial equipment is attracting much attention. 16,678 pieces of equipment will have been upgraded between 2012 and 2014, at a total cost of $1.127 billion. Within this programme, $104.1 million was spent in the first half of 2013 on replacing1, 721 pieces of unusable, obsolete and worn out equipment.
Upgrading the industrial stock requires solid investment, and it will be impossible without the latest technology and equipment, close cooperation between professionals in various industrial sectors, and sharing of experience and information between producers and suppliers of machinery and materials. This was one of the reasons for organising a comprehensive display of the latest products in key industries at one event – at the same place and at the same time.
