Korean envoy holds talks with head of Uzbek Competition Committee

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The chairperson of the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for privatization, demonopolization and development of competition Aziz Abduhakimov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of South Korea to Uzbekistan Lee Wook-heon.
During the meeting, the sides underlined dynamic development of relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea, which are strategic partners. Trade turnover between two states in 2012 hit US$2.13 billion, and grew by 31.4%. Uzbekistan has over 400 enterprises with Korean capital.
The Korean envoy was informed about cooperation of the committee with various organizations and companies of South Korea, including Korean Exchange in developing securities market, Korea State Assets Management Corporation and Korea Corporate Management Service on corporate management, Korean Agency for International Cooperation in improving skills of cadres, etc.
Currently, the work is underway on preparing a memorandum of cooperation in improving state property management between the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for privatization, demonopolization and development of competition and Ministry of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea.
The sides exchanged opinion on issues of mutual interest, the Uzbek committee said in a statement.
At the end of the meeting, the Korean envoy expressed gratitude for reception and hope for fruitful cooperation in future.
