Uzbekneftegaz plans to invest US$50m to LNG production project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekneftegaz national holding company is planning to invest US$50 million to project on production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2015-2018, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan said.
The company currently is preparing a project on construction of two facilities on extracting and processing low-pressure gas at three used fields in Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan, RIA Novosti reported.
Their total capacity will make up about 200 million cubic meters a year. It is planned to produce 20,000 tonnes of LNG a year. The project will be implemented in 2014-2016. The project will be financed due to own resources of Uzbekneftegaz.
According to Uzbekneftegaz, currently Uzbekistan has over 50 used low-pressure gas fields with reserves about 60 billion cubic meters.
The capacities of Uzbekneftegaz allow to produce about 70 billion cubic meters of gas a year. Uzbekistan decreased gas production by 0.2% to 62.911 billion cubic meters.
