Uzbekistan, Belarus discuss cooperation in automobile transportation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A session of the Belarus-Uzbek joint commission on international automobile transportation was held in Minsk, Belarus, on 21-22 August 2013, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Belarus said.
The Belarusian side was led by head of department on automobile and city passenger transportation of Ministry of Transport and Communication Yuriy Korovaykin and the Uzbek delegation – head of the office of the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport Ilkhom Sharahmetov.
The sides exchanged statistics data on trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus, information on current state and development of international automobile cargo transportation between two states, including on the volume of automobile cargo transportation. It was noted that bilateral relations between two states in international automobile transportation is developing dynamically.
The sides considered issues on use of permissions for international automobile cargo transportation. The Belarusian side offered to the Uzbek side to exchange additional volume of permission letterheads for 2013 due to growth of cargo transportation between two states.
The Uzbek sides agreed to consider this issue by the end of third quarter of 2013. The sides also will consider preliminary permission quota for 2014.
The delegations also considered a protocol on introduction of changes to agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Belarus on international automobile communication from 22 December 1994, proposed by the Uzbek side, and agreed the text with proposals and notices of the Belarusian side.
The draft protocol will be directed to the ministries and departments of two states to carry out necessary inter-governmental procedures to agree the document. The sides noted that the protocol should be sided by the end of 2013.
The delegations also discussed other issues of mutual interest, as well as requirements for transportation of goods via customs borders of Uzbekistan via automobile transport.
