Sewage system of Termez to be modernized

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A project on modernization of city sewage system with the cost of US$18.5 million started in Termez, Surkhandarya region of Uzbekistan.
Pravda vostoka newspaper reported that the Asian Development Bank (ADB) allocated a loan for US$14.85 million to its implementation.
South Korea’s Shindong Enercom Inc. Was selected as a contractor of the project. Till 2015, the company will carry out construction and reconstruction works at sewage system with total length of 18 km.
The company will repair existing pump station and construct three new ones. It is planned also to reconstruct cleaning system.
Implementation of the project will significantly improve the sanitary conditions in the city, and create favorable conditions for strengthening effectiveness of measures to improve public health.
Currently Uzbekistan implements six projects on improving water supply for population with total cost of US$392.2 million.
