Uzbekistan, Latvia hold talks on automobile transportation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A next session of the Uzbek-Latvian mixed commission on international automobile transportation was held in Tashkent.
The commission was created in line with clause 17 of the agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Latvia on international automobile communication from 23 May 1996, the press service of the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport.
Representatives of the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade, State Customs Committee, Republican Road Fund, Association of International Automobile Transporters of Uzbekistan participated at the session on the behalf of Uzbekistan. Latvian side was represented by officials of Ministry of Communication of Latvia, Automobile transport direction, Association of Automobile Transporters of Latvia, Embassy of Latvia in Uzbekistan.
During the session, the sides exchanged opinion on current state of bilateral cooperation in automobile transportation. They also discussed implementation of agreement on automobile transport communication and set additional quota on exchange of permission certificates for automobile transportation for 2013.
Head of the Latvian delegation, director of Department for automobile transport of Ministry of Communication of Latvia Andris Lubans said that the Uzbek-Latvian relations in automobile transportation are developing positively.
Uzbekistan and Latvia signed a protocol of the session of the mixed commission of international automobile transportation.
