Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan fully executes its contractual liabilities on supply of natural gas to southern Kazakhstan.
Recently, Kazakh mass media reported that Uzbekistan allegedly limited natural gas supplies to southern Kazakhstan.
According to data, presented by the source in the governmental circles of Uzbekistan, the natural gas supplies to southern Kazakhstan are conducted in line with contract between Uztransgaz joint stock company and Gazprom Schweiz AG.
In line with the data, the gas supplies made up 101.1% from 1 January to 15 November 2011, which means that it exceeds contractual volume of gas supplies.
Decreasing of gas supplies to southern Kazakhstan is related with other issues. In September 2011, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed on gas supplies at the volume of 300 million cubic meters. But actually, Kyrgyzstan purchases Uzbek gas from Kazakhstan due to pipeline issues.
In the result, Kazakhstan sells part of its contractual volume of the Uzbek gas to Kyrgyzstan, which naturally impact the volume of gas supplied to its southern region. Who is guilty? Hardly, Uzbekistan.
