About 306,900 persons find jobs in Uzbekistan in Jan-Jun 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over 346,500 persons applied to labor agencies for employment in Uzbekistan in January-June 2010, which was 1.3% more than in January-June 2009.

According to Labour and Social Welfare Ministry, as of the end of June 2010 the number of citizens registered through labor agencies as those who are looking for a job was 26,200 persons versus 30,900 persons as of the end of June 2009.

Largest number of citizens registered as those who are looking for a job was observed in Tashkent city – 3,200 persons (12.1% of the total number of persons registered in labor agencies), Kashkadarya region – 2,900 persons (11.2%), Ferghana region – 2,900 persons (11%), Surkhandarya region – 2,400 persons (9.1%), Andijan region – 2,300 persons (8.6%),

In January-June 2010, 306,900 persons were employed with the assistance of labor agencies (88.6% of all applied to labor agencies for employment), which was 2.8 percentage points more than in January-June 2009.
