Birth rate in Uzbekistan was 20.3 pro mil per in Jan-Jun 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-June 2010 the birth rate in Uzbekistan was 20.3 pro mil per 1,000 people, or decreased by 0.3 pro mil compared to the corresponding period of 2009 (20.6 pro mil), the Uzbek State Statistics Committee said.

In the first half of 2010, the death rate was 4.5 pro mil or decreased by 0.4 pro mil compared to the same period of 2009. Out of the total number of the dead 61.5% died of cardiovascular diseases, 7.4% – neoplasms, 5,7% - accidents, poisonings and traumas, 5,9% - respiratory diseases.

According to the preliminary data in January-June 2010, 3,700 children died at the age under one year. The infant mortality rate decreased from 11.6 pro mil in January-June 2009 to 11.2 pro mil in January-June 2010.

Out of the total number of children died at the age under one year, 47.3% died of states occurring in perinatal period, 32.7% - respiratory diseases, 7.9% - congenital anomalies and 3.1% - infectious and parasitic diseases.

In the first six months of 2010, 108,500 marriages and 8,500 divorces were registered in Uzbekistan. There were 7.8 marriages (in 2009 – 7.2) and 0.6 divorces (in 2009 – 0.6) per 1000 population.

According to the preliminary data, the number of immigrants was 67,200 in January-June 2010 and that of emigrants – 83,600. The highest migration of population was marked in Tashkent region (immigrants – 9,100, emigrants – 13,000), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (7,400, 13,000) and Tashkent city (6,100, 7,800).

The balance of migration was minus 16,400 compared to minus 20,000 in the corresponding period of 2009.
